The devotion to Our Lady Consolata started in a natural way in the city of Turin in the 4th Century A.D. It is reported that 363 AD St.Eusebius brought a prized icon of Our Lady of Consolata from Egypt.

Consolata Missionary
Founded in Turin, Italy, on 29th January 1901 by Blessed Joseph Allamano, In 1902 they came to Kenya and celebrated the first official Mass in Tuthu (now in the diocese of Muranga) on 29th June 1902.
Giuseppe Allamano was born in Asti in 1851 as the fourth of five children to Marianna Cafasso. He was the maternal nephew of Saint Joseph Cafasso. His father died when he was three. read more
